We performed extensive research on international / regional labor regulation as well on the regional best practices when implementing labor policies in order to develop a labor compliance handbook for companies in Central America and the Caribbean. The Guide was sponsored by ILO and was designed, validated and implemented in collaboration with the organized private sectors in the region taking into account the local needs of each country. The Guide required extensive consultations with the private sector across the region in order to evaluate how best to promote responsible labor practices in local economies.
The Guide has received recognition within ILO as the most innovative project in partnership with the private sector in 2013.
