Sustainable Strategies developed a social impact assessment for a large mining project. The assessment was done in order to comply with Equator Principles and IFC requirements. We initially redefined the project’s area of influence that allowed the project to define what communities were in their area of influence and of these, which were to be prioritized. We then performed multiple stakeholder consultations in order to identify and evaluate the project’s potential social impacts.
